Monica, Thanks for sharing this interesting poem. Like Dorothy, I have been spun out of all that was familiar and landed in a colorful place where everything is new. My husband passed away 2 years ago and I moved from the East Coast where I grew up to the West Coast to live with my daughter. Unlike Dorothy, I have not returned to my Kansas. I'm still on that yellow brick road heading towards the Emerald City. It is in the night time when all is quiet that my thoughts turn to the unknown future. Where does this road really lead?

Chris, Your poem "Dumb Luck" pulled me into the drama of the situation. It is something more people than care to admit, have been or are going through. Being caught up in the moment and foggy of brain can be dangerous. Friends, don't let your friends leave the party with a stranger when you know they've had too much to drink.
